متن کاملDivergent RNA transcription
New approaches using biotinylated-psoralen as a probe for investigating DNA structure have revealed new insights into the relationship between DNA supercoiling, transcription and chromatin compaction. We explore a hypothesis that divergent RNA transcription generates negative supercoiling at promoters facilitating initiation complex formation and subsequent promoter clearance.
متن کاملDivergent transcription from active promoters.
Transcription initiation by RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) is thought to occur unidirectionally from most genes. Here, we present evidence of widespread divergent transcription at protein-encoding gene promoters. Transcription start site-associated RNAs (TSSa-RNAs) nonrandomly flank active promoters, with peaks of antisense and sense short RNAs at 250 nucleotides upstream and 50 nucleotides downstr...
متن کاملConservation of divergent transcription in fungi.
The comparison of fully sequenced genomes enables the study of selective constraints that determine genome organisation. We show that, in fungi, adjacent divergently transcribed (<---->) genes are more conserved in orientation than convergent (--><--) or co-oriented (-->-->) gene pairs. Furthermore, the time divergent orientation of two genes is conserved correlates with the degree of their co-...

associated with diabetes management. Cerkoney and Hart (1980) found that beliefs about the seriousness of diabetes and responding to cues to action were associated with adherence to treatment. Polly (1992) reported that perceived severity was associated with metabolic control, and perceived barriers were associated with adherence to treatment in older people with type 2 diabetes. Fitzgerald et ...
